The VU Meters have only “12 steps” so 12 states to be at.

Anyhow, which action are you talking about? Since you mention “12 steps”, I assume it’s about Mackie Control. These 12 steps are not a restriction made by the plugin; it’s built into the Mackie Control protocol and cannot be changed.
what if i bypass the mackie control?
My plan is to have more than those hardcoded 12 states of mackie.
But in the plugin only Mackie Controll has the option to be a VU meter
And for the VUmeter stuff i found 3 files in the plugin folder

Those files are used by the Generic Midi dial, which, starting with version 4.3, can display VU meters.
Yeah i can display VU meters.
But only with the “Mackie Control” and nothing else
