Mini plug-in operating system compatibility

I’m pretty sure like any other software company, when you develop a plug-in or software you develop it for that particular operating system. I’m not degrading what you do the plug-in works great when you get it to work. But letting people know which operating system the plug-in was developed for or with would help a lot took me two days to finally find a version of Stream Deck that worked with your plug-in on my particular operating system MacOS Sequoia 15.8. Just a note of compatibility and what you used when you develop the plug-in would help people a lot.

What’s wrong with the information provided on the Marketplace plugin page:

What do you mean by “what you used when you develop the plug-in”? OS version? I have used every Windows and Mac version available over the last 7 years while developing the plug-in. I have never considered that information important, and can’t see how that “would help people a lot”.

What problems did you encounter? I haven’t heard of any issues with Stream Deck version 6.9 and later, as specified on the plugin page. I have tested with macOS 27 and Stream Deck 7.4.2 without any problems.

Just a note: I don’t know why anyone would develop software for a specific version of an operating system. I’m not sure it’s even possible (well, it is if you work hard for it, but I can’t see the point in doing that). You can set a minimum version requirement if you use a feature not present in earlier versions, but otherwise the OS version is irrelevant.

The plugin is developed for a specified minimum version of the Stream Deck software, as documented on the Marketplace plugin page. Everything else the plugin needs is included in the package, making it independent of what’s present on the OS.
